About Sol Fitness

Sol Fitness is a private and group personal training gym in Lexington, KY rooted in movement, education, and community. We're committed to creating an environment where everyone belongs - and we back that commitment with a level-based pricing system that makes personal training and wellness education accessible to all.

About the Role

As a Personal Trainer at Sol Fitness, you'll design and deliver training experiences for a diverse range of clients. You'll work as part of a collaborative team and contribute to a culture built on movement, education, and community.

Core Responsibilities

Client Training + Programming

  • Design, deliver, and adjust personalized training programs for 1:1, semi-private and small group clients (Level 2+)

  • Conduct thorough intake assessments; set and track collaborative, measurable goals

  • Progress and regress programming based on client performance, feedback, and injury history

  • Maintain detailed client session notes and records

  • Stay on top of day-to-day client and team communication

  • Proactively build and grow your personal training book through genuine relationship-building, referral asks, and consistent follow-up

  • Actively pursue new clients through personal outreach - conversations, social media, events, and community presence, independent of Sol's marketing

  • Track where your new clients come from and develop your own pipeline over time

  • Rebook clients consistently and aim to build a sustainable book that reflects your level benchmarks

  • Submit bi-monthly Client Progress Reports tracking each client's journey

Client Growth + Recruitment

  • Arrive on time and prepared for every session and shift commitment

  • Manage and maintain an accurate personal schedule within Vagaro, including availability, appointments, and cancellations

  • Keep client notes, records, and session documentation up to date at all times

  • Adhere to Sol's code of conduct, safety standards, dress code, and inclusive culture standards

  • Participate in team meetings, one-on-one meetings, trainings, and Sol community events

  • Maintain knowledge of all Sol services, programs, and offerings

Professionalism + Operations

At Sol, community isn't a perk - it's a pillar. As a Sol trainer, you are one of the most visible expressions of what this company stands for. The way you show up - physically at Sol, in our digital community, and out in Lexington - tells the story of who we are.

Community, Brand + Mission

  • Attend and actively participate in Sol events, workshops, and educational programming as a genuine community member, not just as staff

  • Engage consistently in Sol's private Discord and Facebook communities, celebrate client and teammate wins publicly, and help new members feel welcomed and included

  • Participate in Sol Academy programming, including Pro Series workshops, as both a learner and a champion of growth and development

  • Contribute ideas, energy, and feedback to the Sol community experience - you have a voice in shaping what's next for Sol

Sol Community Participation

Local Lexington Community Engagement

  • Actively seek opportunities to give back through fitness, wellness education, and service in the Lexington community

  • Represent Sol at local events, health fairs, pop-ups, and community initiatives

  • Build relationships with local organizations, businesses, and individuals who align with Sol's mission of accessibility and inclusivity

  • Maintain a consistent, authentic social media presence that reflects Sol's values and your own training philosophy

  • Tag @SolFitnessLex in relevant content and cross-promote Sol events, programming, and team culture

  • Understand that your personal brand and Sol's brand grow together - investing in one strengthens the other

Personal Brand + Social Presence

  • Embody Sol's three pillars - Movement, Education, and Community - in how you train, teach, and engage with the world

  • Lead with inclusivity in every client interaction, every class, and every conversation - on and off the floor

  • Represent Sol's belief that fitness is for every body, education elevates everyone, and community is not a buzzword, but a key factor in personal transformation

Mission Ambassador

Qualifications

  • Current CPR/AED certification - must remain active throughout employment

  • Strong written and verbal communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills to manage schedule, communications, client records, programming plans, and client goals and progress

  • Comfort working with a diverse client base across all fitness levels and backgrounds

  • Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, and weekends

  • Basic technology skills and comfort using scheduling and CRM software

  • A genuine passion for fitness, learning, and community involvement

Continuing Education

  • All trainers are expected to maintain active CPT certification, including required CEUs per their certifying body's renewal cycle

  • CEU maintenance and ongoing learning are tied to advancement within the Sol Trainer Level System

  • Commitment to attend Sol Academy Pro Series and internal trainer development workshops

The Trainer Level System

At Sol, accessibility isn't just a value - it's built into how we operate. Our trainer level system means clients can choose the experience level and price point that works best for them. For our trainers, it means a real, earned pathway for growth - from where you're starting to where you want to go. Details are discussed during the interview process.

Not Certified Yet? There's a Path for That.

Through Sol Academy - our in-house education arm - we offer a NASM-aligned Personal Trainer Certification program designed for people who are serious about making fitness their career. Candidates interested in actively pursuing their CPT are encouraged to apply and note where they are in the process. Certification is a requirement to train clients independently, but we are teachers, and love working with new trainers at the start of their journey.

Compensation + Benefits

  • Hourly base pay and commission structure (details provided at offer)

  • Monthly cell phone stipend

  • Access to Sol Academy continuing education programming, including the CPT Pro Series and internal trainer development workshops

  • Complimentary Sol membership with private training, class access and sauna sessions

  • Growth pathway through the Sol Trainer Level System (Levels 1-4)

  • Discounts and access to seminars, workshops, and courses for CEU credits

Physical Requirements

  • Stand, walk, and move continuously throughout sessions and floor shifts

  • Demonstrate exercises including squatting, lunging, bending, reaching, jumping, and dynamic movements

  • Push, pull, carry, and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs

  • Maintain physical readiness to model correct form and technique for clients

Success Profile

  • Inclusive by nature - you meet everyone where they are, without judgment

  • Education-driven - you're a lifelong learner, investing in your own growth

  • Community-minded - you show up for the people around you, not just your own book

  • Self-motivated - you build your reputation and clientele with intention

  • An active listener - you are present and curious

  • Honest, authentic presence - on the floor, online, in our local community, everywhere - you’re the real deal
