Barbell Basics

The barbell is one of the most effective training tools in the gym and one that requires foundational learning. Barbell Basics is a free, hands-on workshop series designed to teach you how to lift safely with proper form.

Each month, we take one foundational lift, break it all the way down, and get you comfortable with the bar. Whether you're picking up a barbell for the first time or want more experience before more advanced sessions, this is a safe place to start.

This is a beginner-level workshop. No experience required.


The Series -come to one or sign up for the remaining two.

🗓 May 16: The Squat The foundation of all lower body strength. We'll cover stance, depth, bracing, and how to squat in a way that's safe and sustainable for your body.

🗓 June 6: The Bench Press More than just an upper body exercise. We'll break down setup, grip, bar path, and the technique cues that protect your shoulders and maximize your press.

🗓 July 11: The Deadlift Possibly the most powerful movement you'll ever do - and the most commonly done wrong. We'll cover hinge mechanics, back position, and how to pull safely with confidence.

All sessions meet 8:30–9:45 AM.


What to Expect:

  • Time for questions - ask anything!


Space is limited to 12 lifters.
Free + open to the public. Registration is required to hold your spot.
