Sol Academy Certified Personal Trainer Pro Series | Training Methods

At Sol Academy, our mission is to provide high-quality, career-focused education at an accessible price—while keeping the human element at the heart of learning. Our CPT Pro Series is a cornerstone of that mission, offering exclusive, in-person education for our Certified Personal Trainer students and local fitness professionals. These sessions are designed to deepen understanding, sharpen skills, and bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.

This May, we're diving into Training Methods, led by Sunny Bayne, Co-Owner and Head Trainer of Sol Fitness.

Good programming isn't just about what exercises you choose - it's about how, when, and why you apply the methods behind them. In this session, you'll explore the training techniques that drive real results: how to use them intelligently, how to sequence them strategically, and just as importantly, when to leave them out.

We'll break down:

  • Set extension methods, intensity techniques, supersets, cluster sets, rest-pause sets, drop sets, and overload methods

  • How to apply advanced training techniques without sacrificing joint integrity, spinal position, or movement quality

  • When NOT to use certain methods — especially in spine-dependent movements like squats, deadlifts, and unsupported hinging patterns

  • Intelligent method selection for smarter fatigue management and safer high-performance programming

  • Advanced set design, session finishers, and density blocks

This is about learning to program with purpose. To understand the science behind the method - and the wisdom to know when not to use it.

As with all Sol Academy Pro Series classes, this session is intentionally designed to be hands-on, conversational, and rooted in real-world coaching scenarios, supporting your growth as a confident, informed fitness professional.
