Sol Academy Certified Personal Trainer Pro Series | Program Design Principles

At Sol Academy, our mission is to provide high-quality, career-focused education at an accessible price—while keeping the human element at the heart of learning. Our CPT Pro Series is a cornerstone of that mission, offering exclusive, in-person education for our Certified Personal Trainer students and local fitness professionals. These sessions are designed to deepen understanding, sharpen skills, and bridge the gap between theory and real-world application.

This March, we’re diving into Program Design Principles, led by Sunny Bayne, Co-Owner and Head Trainer of Sol Fitness.

Designing programs that truly work for your clients requires more than plugging exercises into a template. In this session, you’ll explore the foundational principles behind effective programming—how to assess needs, establish clear goals, apply progressive overload intelligently, and build structure that supports long-term results - all while learning to tune in to the unique needs of your client.

We’ll break down:

  • The framework behind sustainable program design

  • How to adapt programming for different populations and goals

  • Balancing strength, mobility, conditioning, and recovery

  • Creating progression that builds confidence—not burnout

This is about learning how to think like a coach. How to design with purpose. And how to create programs that reflect both science and the real humans standing in front of you.

As with all Sol Academy Pro Series classes, this session is intentionally designed to be hands-on, conversational, and rooted in real-world coaching scenarios—supporting your growth as a confident, informed fitness professional.
